Both Kitty and I were sick yesterday with bad colds. Kitty did manage a pharmacy trip and run for toilet paper and tissue, but I was low. My first day in BCN without any photos, but I did catch up on reading! I’m pasting some pics that did not make the cut with St. Stephen’s Day post so we don’t have to miss a blog day.

Thanks to you two for your support. Eric, you are so right that being sick is at odds with all those possibilities that are just outside. Still, to be able to lie in the sun yesterday in that back bedroom with canaries singing or watch the action on the streets below from the front room is good compensation. I'm so deeply embittered by US politics that it feels great to be in Europe, and I find I dread going home on that measure. We did make it out for tea and cookie yesterday and a slow walk around the block, and are now (10:20 AM Friday) heading up to Gracia. It's our last day here and we absolutely have to get out! Stay tuned.

Hopefully you will both rally after the rest days and return to your itinerary. It's no fun being sick with such allure just outside your door. Thanks for sharing the photos!

I'm sorry you are both sick. These pics that didn't make the first cut are very good. Things are good here, but very cold. You are lucky to be where you right now.
