Kitty and I started this blog as a way to help us record our travels, stay in touch with friends and family, and hopefully provide worthwhile information for others who might be planning trips. When we retired in 2018 we expected to travel regularly, but like so many others found our plans delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Because our blogs have always been centered on real-time travel, this site has languished for two years, waiting for The Next Trip.
Now, finally, The Next Trip is on our horizon! We will travel to Halifax and Prince Edward’s Island this June. In the meanwhile, we’ll shift from our real-time travel mode and instead use this blog to offer short retrospectives of the travel we’ve done since our last post back in the fall of 2019.
In the past two years, we’ve spent three weeks in Barcelona (Jan-Feb 2020), and made regional trips to Ocracoke, NC (Mar 2020), Lake Toxaway, NC (Oct 2020), Bluefield, WV (Jul 2021) and Lynchburg, VA (Nov 2021). We’ve also made outings in and around our own town of Asheville, NC, so we’ll also post local travel ideas for those considering a visit to our region.
We look forward to sharing our stories and photos, reconnecting with friends and fellow travelers as we surface from isolation in our mountain cove and re-enter the world. We invite you to follow us if you’d like.
